Where riding and relationships meet!
The Christian Wrangler program is comprised of five components:
Check out our exciting Christian Wrangler events! Each year Camp Allegheny makes its Christian Wrangler events better with new activities, trails, and more! The Christian Wrangler program will do more than just teach you horsemanship.
It will use your relationship with your horse to help you develop strong values, and a deeper understanding of God. While progressing through the Christian Wrangler Program, campers will have the opportunity to achieve certification through the Certified Horse Association. The Certified Horse Association (CHA) is a national organization which publishes teaching material and provides training for horse staff. It is the only nationally recognized Horsemanship certification program.
All riding activities and games are planned according to the riders experience level and skills. With multiple levels, campers progress over the years from beginning concepts and riding skills to being a well educated and trained Christian wrangler. Camp Allegheny’s returning campers, as well as new campers with prior experience, will start at the appropriate level in this program. If you are looking for more information on this great program, please email us or call the camp at 1-888-251-0771.
In 2008 we added a number of new trails, new events and event types, new rides for some events, and an entirely new Trail Horse Class obstacle course. This year we will be doing more of the same by improving our trail course with new activities, adding pole bending for some events and riders, and clearing new trails, including one that completely circumvents Camp Allegheny property!
